Concrete-Look Wall Finish with ClayBeton
It's wonderful to see how our products come to life in our customers' hands! This time we're sharing a client's project where a clay-and-cement mixture called ClayBeton was chosen for the walls, with which an impressive concrete-look finish was created.

Why does ClayBeton look like real concrete?
ClayBeton is a decorative plaster for imitating concrete, made from a base of white clay, marble and cement. Applying it takes just a single 4–8 mm layer, and the final look is so natural that no one will guess it isn't real concrete. The same mixture can also be used to create a travertine stone effect.

How is this effect created?
The secret lies not only in the mixture itself, but also in the technique used:
- ClayBeton is applied to the wall in a single 4–8 mm layer.
- The mixture is shaped (leveled) on the wall.
- A water-sprayed sheet of polyester (PET) film is then placed on the surface.
- The film is used to level the surface, distribute the water, and form the final concrete texture.
- The surface is left to cure for 12–24 hours, after which the film is removed.
- Once the wall has dried, the surface can be coated with MR. CLAY Varnish No. 1, if needed.
The mixed material stays workable for 2–3 hours, so you can work without rushing – you just need to know a few nuances to get it right the first time.

Colours to match your interior
The base shade of ClayBeton is light grey, but the sample colour palette offers 19 pre-selected shades. For even more freedom, the mixture can also be tinted yourself using any of more than 100 different MR. CLAY pigments, suitable for all clay plaster mixtures.

We love this result and sincerely thank the client for sharing these photos and for their trust!
