A Home for a Daughter: 100 m² Concrete-Look Finish with ClayBeton
It's wonderful to see how our products come to life in your hands!
This time we're sharing the story of a client who is building a home for his daughter. He decided to decorate around 100 m² of walls in the living room, home office and entrance hall with MR. CLAY's ClayBeton decorative plaster. He carried out all of the work himself, over more than two weeks, after first attending MR. CLAY's Module IV training.

He does finishing work often and has plenty of experience, so this project didn't bring any major difficulties – the final result is simply delightful. He chose MR. CLAY because it looks beautiful, and hiring professionals for similar work tends to be expensive. And of course, the best part is that everyone who sees the walls wants to touch them – luckily, the varnished surface is more than ready for that!

No One Will Realize Your Concrete Is Fake
ClayBeton is a decorative plaster for imitating concrete, made from a base of white clay, marble and cement. Applying it takes just a single 4–8 mm layer, and the final look is so natural that no one will guess it isn't real concrete. The same mixture can also be used to create a travertine stone imitation.

How Is This Effect Created?
The secret lies not only in the mixture itself, but also in the technique used:
- ClayBeton is applied to the wall in a single 4–8 mm layer.
- The mixture is shaped (leveled) on the wall.
- A water-sprayed sheet of polyester (PET) film is then placed on the surface.
- The film is used to level the surface, distribute the water, and form the final concrete texture.
- The surface is left to cure for 12–24 hours, after which the film is removed.
- Once the wall has dried, the surface can be coated with MR. CLAY Varnish No. 1, if needed.
The mixed material stays workable for 2–3 hours, so there's no need to rush – and as the client puts it, everything worked out the first time, with no real difficulties along the way.

Colours to Match Your Interior
The base shade of ClayBeton is light grey, but the sample colour palette offers 19 pre-selected shades. For even more freedom, the mixture can also be tinted yourself using any of more than 100 different MR. CLAY pigments, suitable for all clay plaster mixtures.

We love this result and sincerely thank the client for sharing their story!
